(OCAS) Online College Admissions System newly launched by PITB

Online College Admissions System (OCAS) has been established by Higher Education Department (HED) of Punjab in collaboration with (PITB) Punjab Information Technology Board in order to process applications for FA, FSC, ICS programs. (OCAS) Online College Admissions System

Because the launch of admission cycle 2017 on July 27 across Punjab 63,139 applications received in 323 colleges away from 716 public colleges

During the last several years, 1 million applications have now been processed by OCAS in line with the PITB Officials. Online submitted applications were 63,139 among which 31294 applications submitted online while 31,845 were uploaded by the respective colleges.

Dr. Umar Saif, PITB chairman, and Advisor to the CM Punjab, said that this initiative has not only increased the transparency and efficiency but also saved valued time by decreasing the risk of standing in very long queues and helping them to locate online their college of choice and apply at home.

He further testified that the added feature for the system was college brochures and online admission forms were available cost-free. This system has ensured that prompt compilation of applications and merit list with less error-prone, back-office data entry activities to your end-users themselves.

It was observed that applications with gender and program segregation recorded till date were 16,756 applications for ICS (66% male, 34 % female), 13,392 for Fsc Pre-Medical (69 % female, 31 % male), 12,444 for FA (65 % female, 35% male), 11,882 for Fsc Pre-Engineering (76 % male, 24 % female), 7,667 for I-Com (67 % male, 33 % female), 608 for D Com (96 % male, 4 % female) and 544 for General Science (81 % male, 19 % female). The challan forms for OCAS are accepted by all branches of this Bank of Punjab across the Punjab province.

OCAS is a collaborative association between advanced schooling Department, Nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) of Punjab, Bank of Punjab and Punjab i . t Board (PITB) to provide convenient, efficient and reliable use of admissions within the government colleges for advanced schooling for students.
